Since 1961 Dutchyn Farms have been at their current location delighting friends and family with the taste experience only found down on the farm. Situated close to the US border and Niagara river we are located less than a mile from the Niagara escarpment at a halfway point between the actual Niagara Falls and the old town of Niagara on the lake.
Our ideal location with fertile soils left from the receding glaciers 10,000 years ago and a unique microclimate enable us to produce the best tasting crops – Only in Canada Eh!
In order to make your experience unforgettable we devote the utmost care and attention to make sure the fruit is left to ripen on the tree. Fruit ripens gradually throughout the tree and you will find varying levels of maturity, select the larger full colour fruit with no greening visible at the stem end. On average once harvest starts it takes 2-3 days for the less mature fruit to ripen, each variety we grow spans on average 10 day period from start of harvest to end. In order to extend the availability blocks are planted with varieties that have different start dates, for Peaches the Redhaven cultivar is considered the standard where all other varieties start harvest before or after – a typical season spans normally a 6 week window of harvest.

What to expect when you arrive at Dutchyn Farms
- Upon arrival you park your vehicle at our main farm site. Please refer to the map for directions.
- When you arrive, you and the members of your group will check in at the terrace using your booking confirmation. At check-in, you will receive the basket(s) which will be used for picking.
- A participant representative will be asked to sign our Farm Liability Waiver and Release of Claims before entering the picking area.
- Before heading to the field, you will meet your greeter and receive a brief orientation. This will include instructions on how to select your fruit, important safety guidelines, and reminders to respect the farm premises and neighbouring properties.
- You will then be escorted to the best available picking area and given the freedom to enjoy your Pick-Your-Own experience.
- Please dress appropriately for that days expected conditions. We recommend checking the weather forecast for our area before leaving.
- After picking, please return to the market check-in area for checkout. Your fruit will be weighed and charged at $2.50 per pound net weight.
- Please note the $5 entry fee includes access to the farm, parking, use of facilities, basket(s) and access to guest areas. The entry fee does not include the fruit you pick.
- After picking, we invite you to explore our market ands see what we have to offer. Washrooms and sitting areas are available, and you are welcome to relax and enjoy the moment.
- Please be respectful of others, enjoy yourselves, and be mindful of the farm surroundings.
